Turkish Bath Safety

1 General Safety

DANGER: Carefully read all safety warnings before using the Turkish bath. Failure to comply with safety regulations can cause serious or fatal injuries.

The Turkish bath is an environment characterized by high temperature (35-55°C) and high humidity (100%). These conditions require special precautions to ensure safe and beneficial use.

Before each use verify that:

WARNING: This appliance is not designed for people with reduced physical, mental or sensory capacities, pregnant women, without medical permission and under supervision.

WARNING: It is not a toy for children and use with children must be under adult supervision.

NOTE: Check the Turkish bath room before activating the steam generator to ensure there are no people who could be caught off guard by sudden steam emission.

2 Electrical Safety

WARNING: The steam generator operates with high-power electrical current (from 3 kW to 10.5 kW). Electrical installation must be performed exclusively by experienced and qualified personnel according to CEI 64-8 Section 701 standard.

DANGER: The power supply must be turned off before any installation, maintenance or repair work.

WARNING: Never connect neutral to ground. This operation can cause dangerous malfunctions and invalidate differential protection.

WARNING: Do not use the steam generator as a starting point for an electrical line for other appliances.

1. Ground connection continuity check
2. Verification of correct differential switch operation
3. Insulation resistance measurement
4. Correct supply voltage check

DANGER: The steam produced reaches temperatures up to 150°C in pipes. Direct contact with high-temperature steam or with metal surfaces of pipes can cause serious burns.

3.1 Steam Burn Prevention

WARNING: The steam outlet in the cabin must be at least 300 mm from the floor and at least 150 mm from user seats to avoid direct contact.

Mandatory protection measures:

1. Verify that the steam outlet nozzle is correctly oriented away from seating areas
2. Do not bring body parts close to the steam outlet
3. Do not touch steam pipes during and immediately after use
4. Wait at least 30 minutes after turning off before performing any intervention on the system
5. Never obstruct the steam outlet with towels, clothing or other objects

3.2 Hydraulic Safety

WARNING: The drain pipes must be conveyed to the drain separately from the Turkish bath cabin drain, to prevent possible burns due to high temperatures of drainage water.

Precautions for hydraulic connections:

1. Use only copper pipes for temperatures up to 150°C
2. Do not use plastic pipes or materials not suitable for high temperatures
3. Verify that all connections are perfectly sealed
4. Do not install shut-off valves on steam pipes
5. Ensure that the steam outlet pipe has a 3-4° downward slope to facilitate condensate drainage

NOTE: The generator safety valve must never be obstructed or deactivated. It protects the system from dangerous overpressure.

3.3 First Aid for Burns

In case of steam or hot water burn:

1. Immediately cool the burned part with cold running water for at least 10-15 minutes
2. Do not apply ice directly to the skin
3. Do not break any blisters that form
4. Cover the burn with sterile gauze or clean cloth
5. In case of extensive or severe burns, immediately call 118
6. Do not apply creams, oils or home remedies before medical evaluation

4 Children and Elderly Safety

WARNING: Children and elderly people are particularly vulnerable to the effects of high heat and humidity. Constant supervision and special attention are necessary.

4.1 Use with Children

DANGER: It is not a toy. Use with children must be exclusively under direct and continuous supervision of a responsible adult.

Precautions for use with children:

1. Do not allow access to the Turkish bath for children under 12 years old
2. For children between 12 and 16 years, limit sessions to 5-8 minutes maximum
3. Set a reduced temperature (35-40°C) for minors
4. Never leave children unattended in the cabin
5. Ensure that children do not touch the control panel or pipes
6. Immediately interrupt the session if the child shows discomfort

4.2 Use with Elderly

WARNING: Elderly people may have reduced temperature perception and lower thermoregulation capacity. The presence of a companion is advisable.

5 Medical Contraindications

DANGER: The use of the Turkish bath is contraindicated in the presence of certain medical conditions. Medical consultation is mandatory before first use in the presence of any pathology.

6 Fall and Slip Prevention

WARNING: The humid environment of the Turkish bath significantly increases the risk of slips and falls. Always adopt necessary precautions.

6.1 Anti-Slip Safety Measures

1. Verify that the cabin floor has anti-slip surface or suitable mat
2. Always dry any water accumulations on the floor before entering
3. Enter and exit the cabin slowly and cautiously
4. Never run inside or in the immediate vicinity of the cabin
5. Use support handles when available
6. Wear suitable anti-slip footwear for humid environments

6.2 Safety in Case of Illness

DANGER: In case of sudden illness, the risk of falling is high. The cabin must always be equipped with a rapid opening system from inside.

Emergency procedures:

1. The door must always be openable from inside without keys or tools
2. In case of discomfort, sit down immediately or lie down
3. Call for help if possible
4. Exit the cabin as soon as possible if conditions permit
5. If accompanied, the companion must remain nearby and check periodically

7 Emergency Management

DANGER: In case of emergency, it is essential to act quickly and follow correct procedures to minimize risks.

7.1 Medical Emergencies

Symptoms requiring immediate interruption and medical assistance:

• Chest pain or feeling of chest tightness
• Severe breathing difficulty
• Intense dizziness or loss of balance
• Nausea or vomiting
• Abnormal heart palpitations
• Cold sweating
• Mental confusion or disorientation
• Loss of consciousness

Emergency procedure:

1. Immediately turn off the steam generator by pressing ON/OFF
2. Open the cabin door to promote aeration
3. Help the person exit the cabin if conscious
4. Have the person lie down in recovery position
5. Immediately call 118
6. Monitor breathing and heartbeat until help arrives
7. Do not administer water if the person is unconscious

7.2 Technical Emergencies

In case of technical malfunctions:

WARNING: Never attempt DIY repairs. All technical interventions must be performed by qualified personnel.

7.3 Emergency Ventilation

NOTE: Outside the Turkish bath, room ventilation is required to avoid excessive humidity accumulation and mold formation.

Ventilation system:

1. After each use, leave the cabin door open for at least 30 minutes
2. Activate forced room ventilation if available
3. In case of excessive steam accumulation in the room, increase ventilation
4. Periodically verify that ventilation grilles are not obstructed

8 Pre-Use Checklist

WARNING: Before each use of the Turkish bath, perform the following safety checks. Do not use the system if any of the checks fails.

1. Verify that there are no water leaks from the generator or pipes
2. Check that there are no visible steam leaks

1. Verify that the cabin is clean and sanitized
2. Check that the floor is not excessively slippery
3. Verify that the seats are stable and safe
4. Check that there are no dangerous or bulky objects
5. Verify that the door opens and closes correctly
6. Check that the door can be opened from inside without impediments
7. Verify that the lighting works correctly
8. Check that room ventilation is adequate

8.4 Personal Checks

1. Verify that you do not have medical contraindications to use
2. Check that you have not consumed alcohol in recent hours
3. Verify that you are not completely fasting or have eaten too heavily
4. Check that you have drinking water available
5. Verify that you have a clean towel
6. Check that someone knows you are using the Turkish bath
