1 General Safety Rules

1.1 Fundamental Warnings

WARNING: Carefully read all warnings before first use. Failure to comply may cause serious injury or damage to the appliance.

  • DO NOT use the sauna outdoors or in the rain
  • DO NOT use in humid environments or with excessive humidity
  • NEVER touch infrared panels during or immediately after operation - risk of severe burns
  • ALWAYS maintain minimum distance of 10 cm from infrared panels
  • Check the sauna before each use (door, panels, connections)
  • Disconnect from electrical network during long periods of non-use
  • DO NOT leave the sauna unattended during operation

1.2 Users with Reduced Capacity

WARNING: Use by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacity requires:

  • Explicit permission from attending physician
  • Constant supervision by responsible person
  • Detailed instructions on safe use
  • Reduced temperature (40-45°C maximum)
  • Short sessions (10-15 minutes maximum)

1.3 Children and Adolescents

IMPORTANT: The infrared sauna is NOT a toy.

1.4 Pregnancy

WARNING: Use during pregnancy is FORBIDDEN without explicit permission from gynecologist.

  • Stop immediately in case of malaise
  • Do not use if high-risk pregnancy

2 Electrical Safety

2.2 Prohibited Behaviors

2.3 GFCI Trips - What to Do

  1. DO NOT restart immediately
  2. Completely disconnect sauna from outlet
  3. DO NOT attempt to use sauna again
  4. Call IMMEDIATELY qualified electrician
  5. Have electrical system and sauna inspected
  6. Use only after technical inspection and authorization

3 Thermal Safety

3.2 Heat Stroke - Recognition and Prevention

Heat stroke is a dangerous condition that can occur during sauna use.

3.2.1 Heat Stroke Symptoms

  • Intense dizziness or lightheadedness
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Pulsating headache
  • Mental confusion or difficulty concentrating
  • Blurred vision
  • Very hot and dry skin (absent sweating)
  • Rapid and shallow breathing
  • Accelerated or irregular heartbeat
  • Extreme muscle weakness
  • Loss of consciousness

WARNING: In presence of these symptoms EXIT IMMEDIATELY from the sauna.

3.2.2 Prevention

  • NEVER exceed recommended durations (max 45 minutes)
  • Start with low temperatures (45°C) and increase gradually
  • Drink 300-500 ml water BEFORE session
  • DO NOT use after consuming alcohol
  • DO NOT use if dehydrated or feverish
  • Respect 5-minute rest period between consecutive sessions
  • Always listen to your body's signals

4.3 Drugs Requiring Precautions

  • Beta-blockers: reduced ability to dissipate heat
  • Antihistamines: reduced sweating
  • Tricyclic antidepressants: altered thermoregulation
  • Tranquilizers and sedatives: reduced danger perception
  • Vasodilators: risk of severe hypotension
  • Stimulants: risk of hyperthermia

NOTE: ALWAYS consult doctor before using sauna if taking medications regularly.

5 Emergencies and First Aid

5.1 Malaise During Session - Procedure

  1. EXIT IMMEDIATELY from sauna
  2. Lie down in safe position outside sauna
  3. Ask for help if other people present
  4. Drink water in small sips if conscious
  5. Apply cold cloths to forehead, neck, wrists
  6. If symptoms persist beyond 10 minutes: call emergency services
  7. DO NOT re-enter sauna until complete recovery

5.2 Panel Burns - First Aid

  1. Immediately cool area with cold running water for 10-15 minutes
  2. DO NOT apply ice directly to skin
  3. DO NOT apply butter, oils, or home remedies
  4. Cover with sterile gauze if available
  5. If extensive burn or blisters: go to emergency room
  6. If minor burn: apply specific burn cream
  7. Monitor for 48 hours for signs of infection

5.3 Fainting - What to Do

  1. Call IMMEDIATELY emergency services
  2. Position person supine with elevated legs (if breathing)
  3. Ensure clear airways
  4. Loosen tight clothing
  5. DO NOT give drinks if unconscious
  6. Monitor breathing and pulse
  7. If not breathing: start CPR if trained
  8. Wait for rescue arrival

IMPORTANT: Do not move fainted person if head or spinal trauma suspected.

5.4 Severe Dehydration - Recognition

Severe dehydration symptoms require medical intervention:

  • Intense unquenchable thirst
  • Scanty and very dark urine
  • Very dry mouth and tongue
  • Dry skin that doesn't return to normal after pinch
  • Mental confusion
  • Very accelerated heartbeat
  • Rapid breathing
  • Low blood pressure (dizziness when standing)
  • Widespread muscle cramps

ACTION: Call emergency services if multiple symptoms present. Meanwhile have person drink water in small sips.

6 Final Tips for Safe Use

6.1 Common Sense Rule

  • If something doesn't seem normal: STOP
  • If you feel unwell: EXIT IMMEDIATELY
  • If you doubt about a medical condition: CONSULT DOCTOR FIRST
  • If a component seems damaged: DO NOT USE
  • If ozonator (if present) is active: DO NOT ENTER

6.2 Optimal Preparation

  • Consult doctor before first use (especially if over 60, pre-existing conditions)
  • Always start with low temperatures and short durations
  • Increase gradually over time (weeks, not days)
  • Keep track of temperatures and durations tolerated
  • ALWAYS listen to your body's signals

6.3 During Session

  • Bring water bottle with you (outside sauna)
  • Leave door ajar if alone at home
  • Have phone within reach (outside sauna)
  • DO NOT fall asleep during session
  • Exit if any discomfort begins
  • Respect timer 

6.4 After Session

  • Stand up slowly to avoid dizziness
  • Cool down gradually (NO immediate ice shower)
  • Rehydrate immediately (500ml water minimum)
  • Rest 15-30 minutes before intense activities
  • Leave sauna door open for aeration
